On Tuesday 13th October, Year 6 ventured on a brand new school trip to Milestones Museum in Basingstoke.
To help immerse them in their learning about WW2, they stepped back in time to explore what a town would have been like in the past. This included looking at real vehicles, factories and shops, including using their rationing tokens to buy old sweets! Alongside this, they participated in a number of workshops: sorting food into rationed and unavailable piles, calculating how many coupons would be needed to buy their clothes, deciphering morse code to uncover the clues and receiving training such as first aid and plane spotting to be an ARP. Not only were the children engage with their learning from the very start to very end of the day, they represented the school with great pride. Overall, it was a fantastic day and they are now even more knowledgeable about WW2!
