This week, each of our Year 6 classes took part in morning walks along Yateley High Street as part of their geography unit, Location, Location, Location. These walks formed the basis of their human geography fieldwork.
The children practiced their observation and mapping skills, creating detailed maps of the local area using appropriate keys to identify and record key features. When they arrived back at school, they used the data they had gathered to design a new leisure facility for Yateley, with the aim of enhancing the local community’s amenities.
Throughout their visits, the children demonstrated exemplary behaviour by remaining safe, focused, and representing our school with pride. Well done, Year 6! Who knows?!? If we share your brilliant ideas with Yateley Town Council, one of your designs might even come to life one day!
