This week, with excellent enthusiasm, many of our Year 6 children have participated in Bikeability. They began the course by mastering the basic skills of how to complete an ‘ABCD’ safety check on their bikes to ensure they are safe to ride. Then, they moved onto the skills of actually riding and keeping safe on the roads. Cycling around areas near our school, they have learnt essential skills such as how to safely position themselves when riding on a road, using arm signals to indicate intentions and how to U-turn a bike (just to name a few!) We hope that the children will remember these life-long lessons on how to ride safely and look forward to seeing them safely riding around!
