On Tuesday, Year 5 suited and booted in their Viking costumes arrived in school feeling excited (but a little bit nervous) about what was in store for our Anglo-Saxon Creative Day. Over the course of the day, the classes all had three historical themed activities to complete:  making a helmet for battle with Mr Chaplin, role playing in a Viking Court with Mr Medwell and cooking up some delicious oatmeal cakes and berry jam with Miss Startup.  To finish the day, we listened to a Norse Myth which featured Thor (God of Thunder) and Loki (God of Fire, Mischief and Trickery). Not only did we have lots of fun, we learnt lots of fascinating facts about traditions and laws of the time.
