Oh what a night! Thursday was an absolutely epic day and one we will never forget!
We were all feeling very excited, but also a little bit nervous, when we got on the coach to travel up to London for the greatly anticipated Young Voices Concert. We have spent months and months learning all of the words off by heart and it was hard to believe that the big day had actually finally arrived. To pass the time on the coach, we were soon singing (and dancing!) along to the backing tracks and then… we saw the arena from the coach window, and the excitement grew even more! Wearing our bright red school caps, we paraded to the entrance feeling like popstars. After eating our lunch, we participated in a very long rehearsal which was finally followed by more refuelling (dinner!) and preparation for the final performance. Then, at 7.00pm, the parents were all seated, the lights dimmed before the show began. It felt so phenomenal to be part of a choir made up of nearly 8000 children. We all sang along as best we could and made sure that we joined in with all of the dance moves, cheering and clapping!. We loved seeing all of the amazing dancers and hearing professional singers in such a famous venue. Around 9.30pm we found our way back to our coach and headed home to Yateley—feeling exhausted but proud of what we have achieved. The experience will stay in our memories for ever!
