On Thursday, Year 3 travelled back in time to Ancient Egypt to begin our new topic. The tone was set from the moment the children arrived in school; we were thoroughly impressed by everybody’s efforts with their elaborate Egyptian costumes! Throughout the day, we had a wonderful time investigating the importance of the River Nile for the survival of Egyptians, as well as learning how the Ancient Egyptians used hieroglyphics to communicate. Other creative highlights of our day included creating a silhouette of the pyramids and designing/making a necklace fit for a pharaoh! We had a fantastic creative day which fully immersed the children in understanding the achievements of Ancient Egyptians.   For additional photographs, view the gallery on the Year 3 page via the following link Year 3 | Westfields Junior School
