As mentioned last week, part of our World Earth Day celebrations was the opportunity to be crowned Westfields’ Sustainability Champions! In a special assembly on Wednesday, finalists from each class presented their inspired sustainability inventions, the Eco Committee (and teachers!) then had the incredibly difficult job of judging and selecting winners:
Lower School – Eleni Spilsbury, Ava Findlay, Emmy Allen, Bella Young (3MP) with their fantastic robot that cleans up and sorts litter
Upper School – Bella Doe, Poppy Jacob and Ruby McCormack (6LL) who invented a machine to turn old clothes into bespoke made-to-order blankets
Teachers’ Award – Lorenzo Scully, Jacob Smith and Izzy Harryman (5DT) for their innovative app which informs you when food in your fridge is due to expire and provides you with recipe ideas!
Well done to everyone, so many fantastic ideas, lets hope our planet is in safe hands with so many innovative and environmentally aware children!
