What a day we had! Once again, World Book Day at WJS was jam-packed with a multitude of exciting reading opportunities to celebrate our love of reading. We must first mention the children (and staff!) with their fantastic effort on costumes – from tigers who came to tea through to aliens who love underpants – everyone looked fantastic!
Throughout the day, each year group had an incredible book to dive into and explore through creative reading activities. The children also had the opportunity to follow along with a masterclass from the author of their book who inspired them to create unique characters, strange settings and mysterious objects. This year also saw the return of ‘The Masked Reader’ as well as a whole-school zoom quiz! New to this year was our design a ‘Book in a Box’ competition and we were absolutely blown away by the most impressive entries! School Council and Westfields staff have voted and the results will be revealed at the beginning of next week.
We want to thank everyone for their amazing efforts and hope that they all had a fabulous World Book Day!
