On Monday afternoon we were delighted that the sun shone for our Charity Fun Run in aid of Cancer Research UK. Once again a number of our children and staff fashioned their pink accessories to participate in year group heats and share lots of fun in aid of a very worthy cause which so many of us have been affected by. Of course, the children were excited to participate in this charity event; fun was certainly had by one and all (including Dexter!)
Following a warm up led by our resident magic fairy (Mrs Crane!) and our newly elected Team Captains, the children raced off to complete the circuits! Our super team captains also did a fantastic job supporting all of their team members from each year group and of course the
children were delighted to receive their participation certificate and team points for each lap completed!
I would like to thank Miss Stevens (our PE Co-ordinator) who organised the event as well as all of the staff who supported her to ensure it was a memorable and enjoyable event for one and all.
As I am sure you will recall, we asked that each participant raise £1.00 but we are astounded to share that we have collected a fantastic £990 – thank you so much for your support, what a wonderful Westfields Team effort!
