On Monday morning, Year 5 & 6 virtually joined 65 other schools and Hampshire County Council via Zoom for a workshop all about road safety. The session started by recapping what we already knew about how to stay safe near roads including stop, look and listen before then interactively participating in a number of polls such as what most causes people to be distracted near the road and looking at statistics of how likely you are to veer off a pavement if you are on a device! Finally, the children were given top tips on how to protect themselves when cycling (Yr6 were really good at this due to their Bikeability course!) and of why everyone always needs to wear a helmet! Some very important reminders particularly ahead of the summer holidays!
