As briefly shared last week, after school on Friday 13th May, Year 5 held their Fiver Challenge Business Fair. Each team was given a £5 budget to make a profit by creating games, products or experiences in order to raise money to pay towards their residential trip next year.
Products included painted rocks, sunflowers, bead bracelets, a chocolate fountain, cupcakes, glazed biscuits, space juice and bookmarks, which were sold in the hall. Outside on the playground there were games and experiences including a photo booth, nail bar, hook a duck, pie in the face, basketball and penalty shoot-out, dart challenge, bottle and cup flipping and sponge the teacher! Attendance by both parents and children was fantastic (and the sun even shone!) and the stall holders were kept busy right up to the end of the fair. A grand year group profit of £1081.63 was raised. Well done Year 5, what a brilliant real-life experience to develop your understanding of teamwork and financial matters! More photos are on our year group page on our school website.
