This week, the whole school launched themselves wholeheartedly into British Science Week, which this year had a theme of ‘Exploration and Discovery’ by participating in our very own Science Day… Each year group completed several scientific investigations and activities which encouraged the children to explore the world around them, use scientific recording and evaluating skills and most importantly…have fun! There was a real buzz around school and the children were so focused as they explored microhabitats in the school environment, made new substances from milk, delved down into our oceans and even made historical poo! Year 3 loved assessing materials for astro-nappies and Year 4’s grasshoppers made beautiful sounds. The links between Science, Computing and Engineering were also developed in Years 5 and 6 with coding and design challenges.
