In celebration of World Book Day, all of the children (and staff!) dressed as a book character! The costumes were absolutely fantastic and ranged from the Queen of Hearts to Burt from David Walliams’ Rat Burger. Over the course of the day, the children enjoyed a range of themed activities including designing a new front cover for an existing book (these are going to be part of a competition and the winning entries will be displayed in the Library shortly). Other exciting activities for the children to immerse themselves in a book included; sharing their favourite stories (speed book recommendations), writing book reviews, designing new characters and making book marks. The whole school ended the day with adults sharing a story with groups of children from a range of classes. There was an amazing atmosphere and it was brilliant to celebrate and enjoy the wonderful world of books!
