This week, the children celebrated Road Safety Week with our annual Time to Shine Day, reminding everyone about the importance of staying safe on and near our roads. Across the school, children revisited key road safety rules and codes. They discussed the importance of traffic signs and why it is important to be alert at all times – especially as the winter months bring darker mornings and early evenings. To highlight the importance of visibility, the whole school came dressed in their brightest, boldest and most colourful clothes. As you can see, the hall was definitely bursting with neon, sparkles and high-vis gear; the children certainly lived up to the ‘shine’ theme! In addition to this, our fantastic Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs) also led a whole-school assembly filled with interactive fun. This year, the assembly was presented as a quiz, giving everyone the chance to test their road safety knowledge while learning some important reminders along the way. The JRSOs also took this opportunity to launch this year’s ‘Time to Shine’ competition, inviting all pupils to design a brightly coloured winter dog coat for Dexter to help him stay safe and be seen during the darker months. Please be aware that all entries should be handed in to the children’s classteachers or Mrs Crane in Reception by Friday 5th December 2025.
We hope there will be record numbers of entries!
