On Friday, Year 3 stepped back in time for an exciting Ancient Egyptian Creative Day. Both children and staff embraced the spirit of the day by dressing in fantastic costumes, bringing history to life in our classrooms. The children took part in a wide range of hands-on activities designed to deepen their understanding of life in Ancient Egypt. They created personalised cartouches using hieroglyphs to represent their names, crafted their own papyrus paper and designed an intricate Egyptian cartonnage. They also constructed and decorated a sarcophagus and even took part in a virtual reality workshop which transported them straight to the heart of Ancient Egypt!
