On Tuesday afternoon we were relieved that it was dry enough for us to complete our Charity Fun Run as our whole school physical extended curriculum activity this term. With a change of charity, this year the children fashioned their blue accessories to participate in year group heats and share lots of fun in aid of a very worthy cause supporting diabetes research. As always, the children were excited to participate in this charity event; fun was certainly had by one and all (including Dexter!) Following a warm up led by our newly elected Team Captains, the children raced off to complete the circuits following our pace-maker Mr Farrer! Our super team captains also did a wonderful job supporting their team members from each year group and of course the children were delighted to receive their participation certificates and team points too!
I would like to thank Miss Stevens (our new PE Co-ordinator) who organised the event as well as all of the staff who supported her to ensure it was a memorable and enjoyable event. As I am sure you will recall, we asked that each participant raised £1.00 in aid of Breakthrough T1D; we are proud to share that we have collected a fantastic £880.88 which Mrs Pagden will send off today.
As ever, thank you for your support!
