On Monday, Westfields welcomed their second Team GB athlete this year… we were joined by Katie Stainton who made her Commonwealth Games debut on the Gold Coast and impressively became a National Champion! The enthusiastic heptathlete delivered incredibly active PE sessions to all of our Year 3 and Year 5 classes. In these sessions our pupils were put to the test in running relays, hurdle races and javelin competitions. It was absolutely wonderful having the opportunity for such an inspirational figure to engage our children in the possibilities available
within sport. Our pupils certainly showed Katie the #WestfieldsWay as she left thoroughly impressed with how engaged each class were and mentioned there were more than a few who really shone at particular events. You never know, we could have a GB athlete of the future?!
