Junk Percussion Sessions with Hampshire Music Service
Further to our World Earth Day celebrations a couple of weeks ago, at the beginning of this week our Year 4 classes have enjoyed sharing the expertise of Hampshire Music Service who provided some fantastic interactive Junk Percussion sessions. Not only were these expert workshops a wonderful way for our children to learn to question whether an item is really ‘rubbish’ or ‘reusable’, they also challenged the children’s limits of music and rhythm to another level. After being introduced to the instruments, the children had fantastic fun playing them whilst gaining valuable experience of working as a team and learning how old barrels, boxes and pipes can all be recycled to form a rather impressive
‘Junk Orchestra’. We are all looking forward to our next sessions…
