This week we held our annual Reading Matters Week around the theme of Remarkable Recommendations!
As part of this event and to celebrate a love of reading, we have all been delving further into our ‘remarkable class readers’ (specially selected texts!) through a variety of themed activities. Our exploration has included learning about key characters, identifying powerful vocabulary, understanding key themes and creating persuasive book blurbs. To add to the fun and involve our families, on Wednesday, we held a BIG READ event; it was lovely to see so many family members coming into school and sharing a love of books! Thank you very much to everybody who attended.
We have finished our Reading Matters activities with creating a class Remarkable Recommendation video to persuade others to read their book and we are all looking forward to sharing these with you as soon as our editing is complete!
