On Wednesday after school we attempted to host a greatly anticipated High Five Netball Tournament.

Having closely monitored the skies all day, unfortunately the weather was not on our side! It was a tricky decision to make but all of the visiting schools (Cranford, Newlands and Hawley) braved the elements and brought along teams. Sadly, after the first game, we had to abandon play as there was more need for waterproofs and maybe swimming hats than netball kits and bibs! The tournament had started brilliantly with WJS scoring five goals in the first two quarters against Newlands but unfortunately despite being primed and ready for the next match against Hawley it was just too wet!

I could not be prouder of the team who were desperate to play on and have shown such enthusiasm during our club sessions! I would also like to thank all of the committed parents who also stuck with us and showed their support; I am only sorry you didn’t get to see more of the team’s skill, they have been a super bunch to coach! Well done Westfields!
